Bodo Glimt v Valerenga Tips

After two weeks in the captain’s chair, Kev’s taking us to Norway to check in with the league leaders.

League leaders to win again

Bodo Glimt v Valerenga
Sunday 27 September, 19:30

I’ve always liked Werder Bremen striker Niklas Füllkrug, not least because he’s had the tenacity to fight back from two serious knee injuries. However, the gap-toothed goal-getter is in my bad books after scoring a hat-trick in a 3-1 win at Schalke, ruining our Under 2.5 Goals bet.

We press on, and finish what’s been a profitable fortnight in Norway. Bodo Glimt showed what they are all about in a brave 3-2 Europa League defeat at mighty Milan in midweek, and now they return to domestic matters as they face Valerenga in the Norwegian Eliteserien.

Bodo Glimt are having an extraordinary season. They have never won the Norwegian title, and yet this season they have won 16 and drawn two of their 18 top-flight games this term. They have scored 65 goals along the way, and are already a massive 16 points clear at the top.

Valerenga are fifth with 32 points, but their away form is letting them down. They have lost three of their last four road matches, including a 4-1 hammering at second-placed Molde. The last time they visited Bodo Glimt’s Aspmyra Stadion, they lost 4-0.

I’ll back the hosts here -1.0 on the Asian Handicap at [1.87]. Bodo Glimt have won their last four league games by at least two goals, and ten of their 16 league victories have been by two goals or more.
