The Buffalo Bills are unbeaten. The New England Patriots are hot on their heels.
According to the oddsmakers, both of these AFC East rivals are seen as about equal in terms of their chances to win in the 2020 Super Bowl odds.
Following a 35-32 victory over the Los Angeles Rams, the 3-0 division-leading Bills saw their Super Bowl betting odds shorten from +2200 to +1900. The Patriots, improving to 2-1 by virtue of a 36-20 triumph over the Las Vegas Raiders, are also at odds of +1900 in the Super Bowl line.
New England was listed at +2300 entering Sunday’s action.

The Patriots have won six Super Bowls, all with Tom Brady at quarterback. The Bills are 0-4 in Super Bowls, all with Jim Kelly under center.
Patriots Displaying Versatility
In the ongoing Brady vs Bill Belichick comparison that will be with the NFL all season long, there’s no edge on paper. Brady’s new team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 2-1. The Patriots under the tutelage of head coach Belichick are 2-1.
What has been learned, though, is that an old dog can teach different tricks. Belichick is displaying a versatility with the New England offense that figures to give NFL defensive coordinators sleepless nights.

Imagine preparing a team to face the Pats. Will you be dealing the elusiveness and passing game of QB Cam Newton, as the Seattle Seahawks were left to handle in Week 2?
Might you see a ground and pound performance like what was on display in Sunday’s punishing win over the Raiders? New England ran for 250 yards, and Newton’s quick feet accounted for just 25 yards of that total.
Sony Michel pushed the pace with 117 yards. Rex Burkhead ran for 49 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught seven balls for 49 yards. JJ Taylor churned out an additional 43 yards on the ground.
When they speak of Belichick’s new wrinkles, it has nothing to do with his complexion.
Bills Survive To Stay Unbeaten
Is the time to pay homage to the Bills as contenders past due? That’s still an ongoing debate. Sunday, it was looking for a time like the Bills would have insufficient funds to pay dividends.
Buffalo’s performance resembled that of Josh Allen, their mercurial QB. There are occasions when he resembles a world beater. And there are times when he looks more like a broken-down jalopy.

The Bills raced to a 28-3 advantage over the Rams. Then they gave it all back.
Give Buffalo credit. After squandering the advantage, the Bills fought back for the win. But that performance also gives cause for concern. The Bills defense, such a stalwart unit a year ago, surrendered over 500 yards to the Rams.
Still Work To Be Done
Picturing either of these teams representing the AFC in this season’s Super Bowl remains a hard sell. The Bills have yet to face a 2019 playoff team on the field this season.
Likewise, New England’s dealt with one tough test and came up short, losing 35-30 to the Seahawks.
Josh Allen now has 19 career Rush TD.
That’s the 2nd-most by a QB through his 1st 3 seasons in NFL history, trailing only Cam Newton (28).

The Patriots defense carried this team last season. They’ve coughed up 55 points the past two weeks.
It’s easy to picture both of these teams in the playoffs. It’s difficult to envision either of them beating the Kansas City Chiefs or Baltimore Ravens when they get to the postseason.
