Evidence should prove difficult to beat in this $10k maiden claimer on the main track.
This gelding finished fifth in a Maiden Special Weight over this course last month. He met a little interference in the straight, and failed to deliver a challenge behind the easy winner. This was his first race since last October, when finished second at Gulfstream Park West in a $35k maiden claimer. He showed plenty of speed on that occasion, and was only just denied. His trainer drops him aggressively for this, and should take all the beating. Anything around [2.4] will do.
Positive Impact to explode
I am going to side with Positive Impact in this $16k maiden claimer on the turf.
This well-related son of Hard Spun cost $350k as a yearling, but has not shown much in two lifetime starts. On his latest start over this course on the main track he was a no show in a Maiden Special Weight. He has since been gelded, and makes his second start for trainer Eoin Harty. He stretches him out in distance, and drops him aggressively for his turf debut. I love this move by Harty who has a 29% strike rate with horses in maiden claimers for the first time. He put in a nice piece of work earlier this month, and this race will not take a great deal of winning. He should be backed at around [6.0] on the exchange.
