There are a number of reasons why people might leave poker, but ex pro Anna Khait’s Twitter rant that Jesus saved her from the ‘self-righteous, hypocritical, slanderer lefties’ that populate the community is perhaps the most pathetic excuse so far…
Thankfully for most players out there, she decided that it was just the professionals she hated, adding:
“…I’m not talking about the wonderful recreational players — many of them are conservative. I’m talking about the majority of the poker ‘pros’”.
Khait’s nonsensical rant, naturally met with some serious backlash, several of the ‘pros’ she hates on wondering how she even knows them well-enough to comment, Ben Lamb among them…
Khait shot to Z-list ‘fame’ when she appeared on the reality TV show ‘Survivor’, Irish pro David Lappin quick to share a nugget about the self-avowed ‘follower of Jesus’ approach to poker…
The poker pro community, of course, covers a wide spectrum of religious and political beliefs, as anyone who follows the likes of committed Christian Doyle Brunson, hardcore Jesus-lover Jason Mercier, outspoken anti-Trumper Daniel Negreanu and social justice-seeker Justin Bonomo will know.
That point, and more, was made quite clearly by Director of Poker Operations at the Aria, Sean McCormack…
…and by many others, including gambling lawyer Mac Verstandig, the man representing a slew of pros and regs in the Postlegate scandal…
There were plenty of faceless and nameless defenders of Trump and Jesus-loving – and let’s not forget homophobic – Khait, though most didn’t know she played poker either.
To top off another bad day at the Twitter tables for Khait, she couldn’t even agree with fellow Christians about her nasty little dig at the poker community.
