Bold Offseason Plans Boost Blues’ Odds
Tagged as a +3300 longshot to ink Havertz less than a month ago, Chelsea have reportedly targeted Havertz in their plans to make a big splash in this year’s transfer market. Already expected to complete a transfer deal for RB Leipzig star striker Timo Werner valued at 53 million pounds, the Blues have also reportedly shown interest in Havertz to replace veteran attackers Willian and Pedro, who are both expected to leave the club following this season.

Twice named Bundesliga player of the month last season, Havertz’ star has continued to rise during the current campaign. The 20-year-old German has played a key role as Bayer Leverkusen challenge to claim a berth in the UEFA Champions League for a second straight year. After scoring 17 times last season, Havertz has potted a team-leading 11 goals so far this time around, including five markers over the club’s four matches since the league returned to play last month.
Reds Slide Amid Speculation of a Quiet Summer Ahead
While Chelsea have rocketed up the odds to acquire Havertz, talk of a potentially quite offseason in Liverpool has contributed to the Reds’ steady dip. Pegged as +500 second favorites in the Havertz sweepstakes in mid-May, Liverpool FC have fallen well off the pace to +1200 after Jurgen Klopp made public statements warning supporters that they should expect the club to have a quiet offseason.

With his club sporting a massive 25-point lead atop the Premier League table, the Reds’ bench boss is well-positioned to be frugal for a second straight year. However, like Chelsea, Liverpool could be a good fit for Havertz as an upgrade on Xherdan Shaqiri, who has failed to regularly hold a first-team role since joining the club two years ago.
Chance to Win Makes Bayern a Best Bet
At the top of the odds to sign Havertz, Bayern Munich has held off Chelsea’s charge and remain improved +150 favorites. Currently poised to claim an eighth straight Bundesliga title, the FCB are reportedly looking to refresh their roster during the offseason by adding Havertz and another German national, Leroy Sane.

Former German national team captain and Bayern star Lothar Matthäus has further fueled speculation that Havertz could be Bavaria-bound with his recent comments suggesting the FCB could easily afford to acquire the two German stars. And Munich would hold considerable appeal for Havertz, who has amassed an abundance of Bundesliga experience in his four years with Bayer Leverkusen.
A perennial powerhouse that doesn’t look to be going into decline anytime soon, Bayern Munich also provides Havertz with a far greater opportunity to achieve glory on both the league and international stage than he would have in Chelsea. As a result, despite their shortened odds, the FCB continues to offer the best betting value to land Havertz.
Pick: Bayern Munich +150
