An Fraoch Mor has quickly reached a fairly useful level in two chase starts under Robbie Power, barely needing to improve on his debut second to go one better at Navan last time, ultimately winning easily by 11 lengths. The seven-year-old could yet have even more to offer given his lightly-raced profile, and he is fancied to mount a bold follow-up bid on his handicap bow in this sphere, with an opening mark of 130 unlikely to prove his limit. Theatre World and Cooldine Bog head the list of dangers.
Pasley has proved expensive to follow in three starts over hurdles to date, but there was plenty to like about his latest second at Punchestown, where he travelled best before paying the price for getting racing too far out (winner came from behind). That form comfortably sets the standard here on weight-adjusted ratings, and, with further improvement on the cards, this looks a good opportunity for him to get off the mark on handicap debut. Sean Says is feared most ahead of the selection’s stablemate Millswyn.
Pure Genius took a step forward when third on his most recent outing at Navan, keeping on well to be beaten a little over eight lengths in a race that is proving strong form (plenty of winners coming out of the race). A repeat of that effort would make him the one to beat here, with more progress not ruled out, either, after only two starts in this discipline. Village Mystic and Lynwood Gold are others to consider.
