BattleHawks Coming Off Dominant Win
St. Louis claimed a share of top spot in the XFL East standings with a dominant 29-9 victory over the New York Guardians in Week 3. They will be aiming for a second consecutive victory on home turf in Saturday afternoon’s matchup at the Dome.

The BattleHawks offense has steadily gained momentum over the first three games of the season. After reaching the end zone on three occasions in last week’s win over New York, St. Louis now leads all XFL East squads with nine total touchdowns.
However, it was the BattleHawks’ defense that set them apart last weekend, effectively shutting down the Guardians attack in third and fourth-down situations, limiting them to just one TD in three red-zone trips.
After reaching the end zone on three occasions in last week’s win over New York, St. Louis now leads all XFL East squads with nine total touchdowns.
That efficiency has lifted the BattleHawks’ defense to second in the league in yards per game. St. Louis has surrendered just five touchdowns this season and sits third in the XFL in scoring defense (22.7 points per game).
St. Louis Fans Getting Behind BattleHawks
More importantly, the BattleHawks hold a clear edge over their XFL East rivals in potential season-ending tiebreakers, currently holding a +4 touchdown differential. With an early edge in the playoff race, the BattleHawks have made steady gains in the XFL championship odds, where they have climbed to a +350 bet after opening the season at +700.
Now sporting a 2-1 record, St. Louis is also poised to smash the meagre 3.5-win total that it was saddled with prior to the start of the campaign.
This BattleHawks chant is the only thing I’ve ever needed in life, and this is coming from a Renegades fan.#XFL #BattleHawks @XFLBattleHawks pic.twitter.com/yjiXAUooID

Perhaps the biggest advantage that the BattleHawks enjoy going into their date with New York is considerable hometown support. The squad received a massive lift in its first-ever home game, with a sellout crowd of 29,554 filling the former home of the St. Louis Rams after a lively downtown rally prior to game time.
The crowd seized the opportunity to vocally slam Rams owner Stan Kroenke while fully embracing the return of football to the Gateway City.

Dragons Adept at Blowing Leads
A hostile crown will provide little comfort to the Dragons, who arrive in St. Louis searching for answers after a disappointing 24-12 home loss to the Dallas Renegades in Week 3. Riding high after mounting an impressive second-half comeback in a 17-9 win over the Tampa Bay Vipers in Week 2, the Dragons found themselves on the wrong end of a comeback last weekend, twice blowing six-point leads to visiting Dallas.
Now buried in last place in the XFL West standings, the Dragons will be gunning for their first-ever win on the road. Seattle also held a lead on two occasions in its season-opening road date with the DC Defenders before surrendering three second-half touchdowns in a 31-19 loss.
Seattle Mired Near Bottom of XFL Team Stats
Indeed, there are few reasons for Dragons fans to get excited. The Seattle offense ranks near the bottom of the XFL team stats. The XFL team that has yet to score 20 points in a game, the Dragons also rank seventh in both passing yards (165.3 per game) and total yards (269.7 per game).
The Dragons defense has also been a disappointment, ranking second-last while allowing 215.3 passing yards per game.
18-0 scoring run for Dallas Renegades they showed up on Seattle Dragons after a 12-6 deficit that’s they way you show up and take advantage of the game no comeback for sure #XFLfootball #DALvsSEA

While those stats may entice bettors to take the UNDER on a point total currently pegged at 38.5, the BattleHawks’ impressive point production over the past two weeks makes the OVER a better bet at -105.
Picks: St. Louis BattleHawks -11.5 (-110); OVER 38.5 (-105)
