“The online gaming experience cannot mimic the excitement players feel at land-based casinos”

Which products are you planning to bring to the upcoming edition of ICE London? What are your expectations this year?

Every single edition has been important to Fournier, but particularly this one, marks the company’s 150-year anniversary, so we could say it is even more special. At our stand, we will showcase a design based mostly on this theme and we hope to receive a large number of visitors who look forward to sharing this landmark in our history. 2020 is also special because it is our first year as part of the Cartamundi group.

As regards our product offering, we will focus on our Fournier and Bee cards and our different solutions for the North American Baraccat such as the Pre-Shuffled cards and the Bee-tek Electronic Shoe. These two products have become icons within the industry as they offer gaming speed and safety, two features which are highly appreciated by both operators and players.

Moreover, our Bee-tek Electronic Shoe remains the favorite solution for operators seeking to integrate online and land-based gaming, since it reads the cards and broadcasts the information via the internet.

Which will be the most prominent topics and discussions within the gaming industry in 2020?

I believe that this year, online gaming will keep taking center stage. The legalization of gambling in Brazil will also be a prominent topic in 2020 and of course, one of the challenges we have ahead is the issue of luring millennials into casinos. Attracting younger audiences is deeply related to the online gaming discussion. We believe that the land-based experience is unique since online gaming cannot mimic the excitement players feel in land-based casinos. As long as we, as suppliers of live gaming solutions, are able to contribute to enhancing that experience, we will be helping make it even more unique.

Proof of the above is that in the last 10 years, our card sales to casinos have almost duplicated. This is part because many new properties have been opened but also because players are, more than ever, looking for the live entertainment that only land-based casinos are able to provide.
