PSG vs Dijon

PSG were stunned by Manchester United in midweek. It was a lackluster outing from the Parisians. The visit of Dijon gives them a wonderful opportunity to get back to winning ways after scoring 10 goals in their last two Ligue 1 matches. A shaky start to the domestic season has quickly been forgotten. Thomas Tuchel’s side are set to blow Dijon away.

The visitors sit at the foot of the table with no wins so far and just two points. Their 1-1 draw with Rennes in their last match will have given them a bit more belief, but that’s not going to be enough against PSG. It could quickly become a game of damage limitation.

An emphatic PSG win is expected. They are as short as -150 to win to nil and -182 to win both halves. A PSG goal total bet is the way to go for this one – ‘Over’ 3.5 is the safe option and worth chucking into a parlay.

Pick: Over 3.5 total PSG goals (-127)

Nice vs Lille

Two of Ligue 1’s form sides matchup on Sunday as Lille travel to the south coast to face a Nice team who have won their last two to move into the top four. Lille are unbeaten in their seven matches so far, winning their last three to nil. The league leaders lost key players in the transfer window, but they have started this season in red hot form and will look to build on that this weekend.

Their most recent meeting came in September of last year. It finished in a 1-1 draw, but the match prior to that was a resounding 4-0 win for Lille. The Lille team has changed notably since then, and Nice carry some confidence into this match, but it’s no surprise to see the hosts as underdogs. That said, Nice’s record is generally good against Lille, having lost just eight of their 37 matchups.

While it should all be qualified by a small sample size this early in the season, it’s worth noting that Nice have considerably overperformed their expected numbers. They are one of the worst teams in the league when it comes to creating chances, which doesn’t bode well against a Lille defense that has kept a string of clean sheets. Another win to nil for Lille looks good value.

Pick: Lille to win to nil (+265)

Lyon vs Monaco

Lyon only got their second Ligue 1 win of the season last time out, getting the better of Strasbourg in a five-goal thriller. Despite collecting just 10 points from their first seven matches, there’s plenty of reason to be optimistic about the seven-time champions. They have massively underperformed their expected numbers at both ends of the pitch – Understat’s expected points has them top of the table. Moussa Dembele and Karl Toko Ekambi have struggled to convert chances so far this season – they will need to be more clinical against a solid Monaco side.

Sunday’s visitors have the sixth-best expected goals against in the league. It’s been a disappointing couple of results (losing to Brest, drawing with Montpellier) after a strong start, but they’re still only two points outside the top four and one ahead of Lyon.

Lyon’s inability to get results even when their performances have warranted them makes the moneyline unappealing. With so many quality attacking players in this match, the ‘Under’ 2.5 goals at +140 is a difficult bet to go for. Wissam Ben Yedder to score anytime, with four goals on 3.18 xG so far this season, looks like the best bet.

Pick: Ben Yedder to score (+188)
