Timeform pick out the three best bets from Turffontein on Thursday…
“…he makes plenty of appeal ahead of his handicap debut.”
Timeform on sun Giant
#10 Whipping Boy – Turffontein R6 (14:35)
Whipping Boy hasn’t won for a while but he has not been performing without credit of late, running to a consistent level overall, and he looks the value play at a potentially big price. Last-time-out winners El Romaiachi and Dark Tide both look to be progressive and are the two to fear most.
#6 Sun Giant – Turffontein R7 (15:05)
Sun Giant broke his maiden at the Vaal back in March and, with a reappearance run now under his belt, he makes plenty of appeal ahead of his handicap debut. Bouncing Tiger and In The Game are both without a win for a while, but they have experience on their side and should continue to give a good account.
#2 Plum Field – Turffontein R8 (15:45)
Plum Field finished 3 ¼ lengths fifth to Pucker Up at the Vaal last time, but is better off at the weights this time around, and with the booking of Gavin Lerena a plus, he gets the vote to turn the tables on his reopposing rival. Little Wood appeals as the pick of the remainder, while Glamorous Scandal looks a good each-way option.
