Rain once wreaked havoc again on Tuesday’s KBO slate, washing out two more games. One of three contests that was completed featured first place NC versus eighth place Lotte, with the Giants coming out on top.

The loss was the Dinos season-high third straight and they’ll look to rebound Wednesday when those two teams meet again at 5:30 am EST.

Odds as of July 28th.

Dinos Will Mash vs Jang

Fortunately for the NC bats, they couldn’t have asked for a better matchup. They’ll square off against Won Sam Jang, who’s been a train wreck this season. The 37-year-old has allowed 21 runs in four starts, and last time out didn’t make it out of the fourth inning versus LG.

He previously faced the Dinos back on July 1st, and it did not go well. He surrendered six runs over 6 innings and gave up two home runs.

Jang’s ERA is now up to 8.38 in 2020, but those types of struggles are nothing new. In 2019, his ERA was 7.98 and in 2018 it was 6.16.

The Dinos meanwhile, pounded Lotte pitchers for 17 hits and nine runs on Tuesday, and should absolutely rake versus Jang in this matchup.

They’ll counter with Sung Young Choi, who’s pitched a lot better recently than his 5.21 ERA would suggest. The right-hander is undefeated in his last three starts, allowing three runs or less in each outing.

Pick: NC Dinos -1.5 (-118)

KT Wiz Loves Facing Lefties

We’ve covered how well KT Wiz hits southpaws in the past but that fact was further amplified last Sunday. Facing Chang Mo Koo, the best pitcher in the KBO, the Suwon racked up six hits and three home runs en route to a 5-4 win.

It’s the second time they’ve hit Koo hard this season, after previously scoring four runs against him in late June. They’re the only team in the league to cross the plate more than twice versus him, and now they get a cupcake matchup against KIA and Hyun Jong Yang. The left-hander has given up 20 runs in his last four starts and owns a 6.00 ERA.

KT Wiz will give the ball to Hyeong Jun So, who’s pitched much better as of late. He’s allowed three or fewer runs in four of his past six outings, including a 3-2 defeat to the Tigers on June 9th.

Pick: KT Wiz +1.5 (-135)

Lions Maul Eagles

Tuesday’s Hanwha versus Samsung matchup was one of the game’s postponed due to rain, meaning Lions starter Tae In Won had yet another day off. Won hasn’t pitched since July 8th, after getting his normal rotation spot skipped due to rest, and then having his scheduled start postponed last week.

As we wrote yesterday, the 20-year-old is someone we’ve repeatedly backed this season for good reason. He’s allowed two or fewer runs in nine of his 12 starts and has been especially strong against weak offenses. In 22.2 innings against SK and Lotte (the second and third lowest scoring teams in the league) he’s given up just three runs. No team scores less than Wednesday’s opponent Hanwha, as the Eagles are averaging just 3.41 runs per game.

Not that you need another reason to like Samsung in this spot, but Tuesday’s runline for this exact matchup was -145, yet a day later it’s down to -135.

Pick: Samsung Lions -1.5 (-135)
