Is America ready to wash Donald Trump right out of the White House?
Apparently not, according to the oddsmakers. Despite his persistent bungling of the COVID-19 pandemic and the still-rising death toll in the United States, oddsmakers still list Trump as the chalk.
On average, his odds are -129 to win re-election to a second term in the Oval Office in the 2020 election odds. Trump was listed at a betting line of -115 as recently as April 15th.
While his odds improved, the line of Democratic challenger Joe Biden grew slightly longer. Biden’s odds went from +110 to +114.

Disinfectant Comment Could Hurt Trump
These odds were set just as Trump made his latest blunder of the ongoing pandemic. On Thursday during his daily press briefing, Trump wondered aloud whether injecting sufferers with disinfectant might be a way to cure COVID-19.
The look of concern across the face of Pandemic response team member Dr. Deborah Birx as Trump suggested injecting people with disinfectant as a solution to the coronavirus said it all.

Disinfectant-maker Lysol reacted quickly to the idea, emphatically pleading with people not to take their product internally. Previously, there was one death from someone who ingested a fish-tank cleaner that he thought contained hydroxychloroquine.
Trump endorsed hydroxychloroquine, a malaria drug, as a COVID-19 treatment. Studies have since proven this isn’t true and taking it can in fact be fatal.
Friday, Trump sought to walk back his disinfectant statement, falsely claiming it was sarcasm in reaction to a reporter’s question.
Lack Of Campaigning Hurting Biden
With the world in lockdown, the 2020 election is basically on hold for Biden. He’s been posting videos on social media. However, Trump’s daily press briefings – which he’s basically trying to turn into campaign rallies – are sucking up all the oxygen in the room.
I can’t believe I have to say this, but please don’t drink bleach.

Gone generally equals forgotten. It’s truly a struggle right now for Biden to maintain a steady presence amidst the issues that are currently overwhelming America.
Cuomo Would Help
Speaking of press briefings, Biden must be kicking himself right now for already committing to a female vice-presidential nominee. This election would be in the bag for the Democrats if he was able to announce popular New York Governor Andrew Cuomo as his running mate.
If you watch nothing else today, watch America’s real president, Andrew Cuomo, giving a masterclass on the Constitution.

Cuomo isn’t even a candidate and he’s listed with the third-best odds to win the Presidency at +3950.
Too Early To Pick A Favorite
Trump seeks to get the country open and the economy up and running as quickly as possible. But by doing so, he might also ramp up the run for the Presidency and offer Biden a better chance to defeat him.
Then again, the more people watch ill-prepared and clearly in-over-his-head Trump stumble through his pandemic media briefings, the more that should aid Biden’s cause.
I truly don’t believe Trump will be reelected. That doesn’t mean we can take anything for granted, or that Biden won’t need every possible vote. Voting has never mattered more.

Until the real campaigning starts, it’s difficult to get a handle on this race. Still, as Americans are infected with all-Trump, all the time, the better Biden looks in comparison.
Pick: Joe Biden (+114)
